The garden and café are popular among the local residents from Ravensthorpe and Westwood, providing them a community space to come together.
Since starting in 2017, the project funded by Big Local has organized several social activities including charity bingo nights, affordable Sunday lunches, and family days at the café regularly. However, these were put on hold due to the pandemic.
The café also manages a community food fridge that stores excess food donated from supermarkets and local businesses for residents to consume. This was also suspended during the lockdown.
Nevertheless, the project committee and its partner Cross Key Homes decided to continue supporting families who might be under added pressure due to the lockdown.
