The Kitchen CT9 Community Fridge

The Kitchen CT9 Community Fridge

The community fridge is a simple response.

As well as helping us to tackle the issue of food waste the community fridge allows us to offer this surplus free to anyone in the community.

As well as our own surplus, anyone in the community can drop off good but unwanted food. We check it is safe to eat, and that packaging is undamaged, relabeling as appropriate, and then store it in the Fridge/Freezer so that anyone can help themselves to it.

This achieves a dual aim of reducing food waste, redistributing unwanted food to others who can make use of it, whilst also allowing people to access items that otherwise would be outside of their budget.
