The Ringwood Community Fridge is a friendly, accessible and community-led initiative, based in the Library at Greyfriars, in Ringwood. It is open to everyone, regardless of means and is not a food bank, or a solution to food poverty.
Every year £3 billion of quality food is wasted by food sectors. Commuity Fridges tackle food wast by redistributing surplus food to the community.
We are working in conjunction with FareShare and will stock our fridge and freezer with chilled and frozen foods, initially from Waitrose, which are still within their “use by” date.
The fridge will be run by trained Volunteers, all of whom hold a food hygiene qualification.
